Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

The weakness exists due to argument injection through custom URI protocol handlers. A remote attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted web-page and specify an irc:// URI that loads an arbitrary .ini file from a UNC share pathname to inject arbitrary commands and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.

Remediation

Update to version 7.55.
