Description

The vulnerability allows a local user to cause a denial of service.

The vulnerability exists due to a memory leak in btrfs_uring_read_extent() when handling error conditions during encoded read processing. A local user can trigger an error path to cause a denial of service.

The issue occurs because the 'pages' allocation is not freed on certain non-happy-path execution paths.

Remediation

Install security update from vendor's repository.
