Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-69194)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error in the Metalink processing logic. A remote attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website and create, truncate, or overwrite arbitrary files writable by the victim user.
2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: N/A)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the get_local_filename_real() function. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted website, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
