Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-6965)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing aggregated terms. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application where the number of aggregate terms exceeds the number of columns available, trigger memory corruption and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-8176)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the get_histogram() function in tools/tiffmedian.c. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted image to the application and execute arbitrary code on the system.

3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-9900)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing image files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted image file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

4) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-59375)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources. A remote attacker can trigger large dynamic memory allocations via a small document and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
