Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10922)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the load_image() function in plug-ins/common/file-dicom.c when processing DCM files. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10920)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when parsing ICNS files within the icns_decompress() function in plug-ins/file-icns/file-icns-load.c. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10923)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow when parsing WBMP files within the read_image() function in plug-ins/common/file-wbmp.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10921)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the rgbe_read_new_rle() function in libs/rgbe/rgbe.c when handling HDR files. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10925)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when parsing ILBM files within the load_image() function in plug-ins/common/file-iff.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
6) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10924)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the load_image() function in plug-ins/common/file-farbfeld.c when parsing FF files. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10934)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted XWD file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
