Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6603)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error when parsing HLS playlists. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted HLS playlist to the application and crash the application.

2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10256)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error when parsing HLS playlists. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted HLS playlist to the application and crash the application.

3) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-7700)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error within the decode_init() function in the ALS audio decoder. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted image to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-9951)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when handling JPEG2000 images. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted image to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-6605)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied DASH playlists. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted DASH playlist to the affected application and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.
