Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10920)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when parsing ICNS files within the icns_decompress() function in plug-ins/file-icns/file-icns-load.c. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10922)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the load_image() function in plug-ins/common/file-dicom.c when processing DCM files. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10923)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow when parsing WBMP files within the read_image() function in plug-ins/common/file-wbmp.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-10924)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the load_image() function in plug-ins/common/file-farbfeld.c when parsing FF files. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
