Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-8534)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to NULL pointer dereference within the PS_Lvl2page() function in tools/tiff2ps.c. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted image to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-8961)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing files in tiffcrop.c. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted image, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-9165)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due memory leak within the _TIFFmallocExt/_TIFFCheckRealloc/TIFFHashSetNew/InitCCITTFax3() function in tools/tiffcmp.c . A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted image to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
