Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-1594)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing files within the ff_aac_search_for_tns() function in libavcodec/aacenc_tns.c. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-7700)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error within the decode_init() function in the ALS audio decoder. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted image to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
