1) Reachable assertion (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40779)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a reachable assertion when handling DHCP packets. A remote attacker can send a request with some specific options, and Kea fails to find an appropriate subnet for the client, the kea-dhcp4 process will abort with an assertion failure. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
