Description
This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-42240)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory corruption within the SYM_INNER_LABEL() function in arch/x86/entry/entry_64_compat.S. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Improper error handling (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26906)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling within the copy_from_kernel_nofault_allowed() function in arch/x86/mm/maccess.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-40997)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within the amd_pstate_epp_cpu_exit() function in drivers/cpufreq/amd-pstate.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-22195)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the xmlattr filter. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
