Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) DOM-based cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3693)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote user to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote user can execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


2) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3694)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


3) Spoofing attack (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3731)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform spoofing attack.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect processing of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can perform clickjacking attack.


4) Missing Encryption of Sensitive Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3882)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to LedgerSMB does not set the 'Secure' attribute on the session authorization cookie when the client uses HTTPS and the LedgerSMB server is behind a reverse proxy. A remote attacker can trick a user into using an unencrypted connection (HTTP) to obtain the authentication data by capturing network traffic.


5) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23831)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the HTTP request origin in setup.pl. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform arbitrary actions on behalf of the victim on the vulnerable website and compromise the application by creating arbitrary user accounts.
