Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-32415)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the xmlSchemaIDCFillNodeTables() function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted XML data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


2) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-9287)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the venv module when creating a virtual environment. A local user can pass specially crafted strings to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.
