Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-7344)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A local administrator can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.


2) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23593)

The vulnerability allows a local user can gain elevated privileges.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in System Recovery Bootloader. A local user can modify the boot manager and escalate privileges.


3) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23594)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in LenovoBT.efi within System Recovery Bootloader. A remote administrator on the local network can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and bypass Secure Boot.


4) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-28924)

The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Secure Boot. A local administrator can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and bypass Secure Boot.
