Description
This security bulletin contains information about 13 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-27144)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources when parsing JWS and JWE input. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-52492)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to NULL pointer dereference within the EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL() function in drivers/dma/dmaengine.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-52594)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read error within the ath9k_htc_txstatus() function in drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath9k/htc_drv_txrx.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
4) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-52756)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to memory corruption within the include/linux/pwm.h. A local user can escalate privileges on the system.
5) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-52813)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources within the pcrypt_aead_encrypt() function in crypto/pcrypt.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
6) Improper Initialization (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-0340)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper initialization within the vhost_new_msg() function in drivers/vhost/vhost.c in the Linux kernel vhost driver. A local user can run a specially crafted application to gain access to sensitive kernel information.
7) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26840)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within the kmem_cache_free() and cachefiles_daemon_unbind() functions in fs/cachefiles/bind.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
8) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26892)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the mt792x_irq_handler() function in drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt792x_dma.c, within the mt7921_pci_remove() function in drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt7921/pci.c. A local user can escalate privileges on the system.
9) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35877)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within the follow_phys() function in mm/memory.c, within the is_cow_mapping(), free_pfn_range() and untrack_pfn() functions in arch/x86/mm/pat.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
10) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35912)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory leak within the iwl_rfi_get_freq_table() function in drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/mvm/rfi.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
11) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47668)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory corruption within the __genradix_ptr_alloc() function in lib/generic-radix-tree.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
12) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-53141)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the bitmap_ip_uadt() function in net/netfilter/ipset/ip_set_bitmap_ip.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
13) Exposed dangerous method or function (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-53920)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in elisp-mode.el. A remote attacker can trick the victim into invoking elisp-completion-at-point (for code completion) on untrusted Emacs Lisp source code, trigger unsafe Lisp macro expansion and execute arbitrary code on the system.
