Description

This security bulletin contains information about 12 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Incorrect permission assignment for critical resource (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40572)

The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect permission assignment for critical resource. A local user can gain access to sensitive information stored on the device.

2) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40573)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A local administrator can send a specially crafted HTTP request and restore backups that are outside the backup folder.

3) Incorrect permission assignment for critical resource (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40574)

The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect permission assignment for critical resource. A local user can interact with the backupmanager service.

4) Use of Uninitialized Variable (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40575)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected devices do not properly validate incoming Profinet packets. A remote attacker on the local network can cause a denial of service condition on the target system.

5) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40576)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error within handling Profinet packets. A remote attacker on the local network can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40577)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker on the local network can send specially crafted Profinet packets, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and cause a denial of service condition on the system.

7) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40578)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker on the local network can send specially crafted Profinet packets, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and cause a denial of service condition on the system.

8) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40579)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A local user can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

9) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40580)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A local user can trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

10) Authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40581)

The vulnerability allows a local user to bypass authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to the authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel. A local user can bypass the authentication of the SINEMA Remote Connect Edge Client and read/modify the configuration parameters.

11) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40582)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A local user can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

12) Cleartext transmission of sensitive information (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-40583)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to software uses insecure communication channel to transmit sensitive information. A local administrator can gain access to sensitive data.
