Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Inconsistent interpretation of HTTP requests (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38311)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP request smuggling attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of HTTP requests when pipelining after a chunked message body
. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the server and smuggle arbitrary HTTP headers.
Successful exploitation of vulnerability may allow an attacker to poison HTTP cache and perform phishing attacks.
2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38479)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cache poisoning attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the Cache key plugin. A remote attacker can send specially crafted input to the application and perform a cache poisoning attack.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-50305)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when handling the HTTP Host header. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the server and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
4) Unchecked Return Value (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-50306)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not drop privileges upon startup. A local user can execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges on the system.
5) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-56195)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions in Intercept plugins. A remote user can bypass implemented security restrictions and gain unauthorized access to the application.
6) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-56202)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application unreasonable retain resources when handling the Expect HTTP header field. A remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP requests to the server, trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
