Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Improper Neutralization of Argument Delimiters in a Command (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47553)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary argument.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected application does not properly validate user input to the ssmctl-client command. A remote user can execute arbitrary code with root privileges on the underlying OS.


2) Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47562)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the ssmctl-client command. A local user can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


3) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47563)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can create arbitrary CSR files in writable directories outside the intended location.


4) Permissive List of Allowed Inputs (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47565)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to comprmise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to the affected application does not properly validate that user input complies with a list of allowed values. A remote user can compromise the integrity of the configuration of the affected application.
