Description

This security bulletin contains information about 19 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-45288)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient limitations placed on the amount of CONTINUATION frames that can be sent within a single HTTP/2 stream. A remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP/2 requests to the server and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-1737)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources within the application when handling a very large number of RRs. Resolver caches and authoritative zone databases that hold significant numbers of RRs for the same hostname (of any RTYPE) can suffer from degraded performance as content is being added or updated, and also when handling client queries for this name.


3) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-1975)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources. If a server hosts a zone containing a "KEY" Resource Record, or a resolver DNSSEC-validates a "KEY" Resource Record from a DNSSEC-signed domain in cache, a client can exhaust resolver CPU resources by sending a stream of SIG(0) signed requests.


4) Inclusion of Sensitive Information in Log Files (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-6104)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to software stores sensitive information into log files. A local user can read the log files and gain access to sensitive data obtain from HTTP requests.


5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-47352)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to memory corruption within the receive_small(), rcu_read_unlock() and receive_mergeable() functions in drivers/net/virtio_net.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


6) Improper error handling (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-47492)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper error handling within the collapse_file() function in mm/khugepaged.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


7) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-48687)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read error within the seg6_genl_sethmac() function in net/ipv6/seg6.c. A local user can gain access to sensitive information.


8) Double free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26704)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a double free error within the ext4_move_extents() function in fs/ext4/move_extent.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


9) Improper locking (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26772)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper locking within the ext4_mb_find_by_goal() function in fs/ext4/mballoc.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


10) Improper locking (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26773)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper locking within the ext4_mb_try_best_found() function in fs/ext4/mballoc.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


11) Race condition within a thread (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-27019)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a data race within the __nft_obj_type_get() and nft_obj_type_get() functions in net/netfilter/nf_tables_api.c. A local user can gain access to sensitive information.


12) Race condition within a thread (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-27020)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to a data race within the __nft_expr_type_get() and nft_expr_type_get() functions in net/netfilter/nf_tables_api.c. A local user can execute arbitrary code.


13) Arbitrary file upload (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-32002)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of file during file upload. A remote attacker can upload a malicious file and execute it on the server.


14) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-32004)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a process control issue while cloning special-crafted local repositories. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.


15) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-34064)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the "xmlattr" filter. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.


16) Race condition within a thread (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35898)

The vulnerability allows a local user to manipulate data.

The vulnerability exists due to a data race within the nf_tables_flowtable_parse_hook() and nft_flowtable_type_get() functions in net/netfilter/nf_tables_api.c. A local user can manipulate data.


17) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-37891)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to Prox-Authorization header is not stripped during cross-origin redirects when using urllib3's proxy support with ProxyManager. A remote attacker can gain obtain proxy credentials used by the library.


18) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38476)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform SSRF attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker with control over the backend server can run local handlers via internal redirect and gain access to sensitive information or compromise the affected system.


19) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-41009)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the __aligned(), bpf_ringbuf_alloc(), bpf_ringbuf_restore_from_rec() and __bpf_ringbuf_reserve() functions in kernel/bpf/ringbuf.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
