Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-43167)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error within the ub_ctx_set_fwd() function. A remote attacker can send specially crafted request to the server and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-43168)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the cfg_mark_ports() function in config_file.c. A local user can pass a specially crafted file to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
