Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-41957)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to crash the application.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the tagstack_clear_entry() function. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted file with Vim using several non-default flags, trigger a use-after-free error and crash the editor.
2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-43374)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the alist_add() function in arglist.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger a use-after-free error and execute arbitrary code on the system..
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
