1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-42288)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to memory corruption within the qla2x00_number_of_exch() function in drivers/scsi/qla2xxx/qla_os.c. A local user can escalate privileges on the system.
Remediation
