Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38162)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions in Azure Connected Machine Agent. A local user can bypass implemented security restrictions and create or delete files in the security context of the NT AUTHORITY SYSTEM account.
2) Link following (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38098)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure link following in Azure Connected Machine Agent. A local user can gain elevated privileges on the system.
