Description

This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Incorrect default permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41946)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to application stores files with sensitive information in system's temporary directory. A local user can read the files and gain access to sensitive information.

2) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-31197)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the java.sql.ResultRow.refreshRow() method when processing column names. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database using the statement terminator, e.g." ;".

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to read, delete, modify data in database and gain complete control over the affected application.

3) Incorrect default permissions (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-1945)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to Apache Ant is using a default temporary directory identified by the Java system property java.io.tmpdir for several tasks and may thus leak sensitive information. The fixcrlf and replaceregexp tasks also copy files from the temporary directory back into the build tree allowing an attacker to inject modified source files into the build process. A local user with access to the system can view contents of files and directories or modify them.

4) LDAP injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-33201)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in applications that use an LDAP CertStore from Bouncy Castle to validate X.509 certificates. During the certificate validation process, Bouncy Castle inserts the certificate's Subject Name into an LDAP search filter without any escaping, which leads to an LDAP injection vulnerability. A remote non-authenticated attacker can use a specially crafted X.509 certificate to bypass authentication process and gain unauthorized access to the application.

5) Improper Certificate Validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-4586)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform MitM attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the Hot Rod client does not enable hostname validation when using TLS. A remote attacker can perform MitM attack.

6) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-26336)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources within the HMEF package. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted TNEF file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

7) Insufficient verification of data authenticity (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-37533)

The vulnerability allows an attacker to redirect victim to a malicious host.

The vulnerability exists due to the application trusts the host from PASV response by default. A remote attacker can trick the victim into connecting to an attacker controlled FTP server and then redirect the application to another host.
