Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38164)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions in GroupMe. A remote attacker can trick a victim to click on a malicious link and gain elevated privileges on the system.
2) Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38176)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper restriction of excessive authentication attempts in GroupMe. A remote attacker can make an infinite number of login attempts and gain elevated privileges on the system.
