Description

This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-6601)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass implemented security restrictions.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in permission assignment. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted website, bypass cross-origin container obtaining permissions of the top-level origin and gain access to sensitive information.

2) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-6602)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in NSS. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted web page, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

3) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-6603)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in thread creation. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and crash the browser.

4) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-6604)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing HTML content. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted website, trick the victim into opening it, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) Security restrictions bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12363)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain bypass security restrictions on the target system.

The weakness exists due to insufficient security settings on meetings. A remote attacker can bypass security restrictions and modify the welcome message to any meeting.

6) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12365)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

The weakness exists due to a design flaw in the product. A remote attacker can execute a query on an Event Center site to view scheduled meetings, view both listed and unlisted meetings in the displayed information and attend meetings that are not available for their attendance.

7) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12297)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to initiate connections to arbitrary hosts.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient access control for HTTP traffic directed to the Cisco WebEx Meeting Center. A remote attacker can send a malicious URL to the Cisco WebEx Meeting Center and connect to arbitrary hosts.

8) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12366)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
