Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-24577)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in git_index_add. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted filename that starts with a "/" character to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.


2) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12276)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary SQL commands in web application database.

The vulnerability exists in the web framework code for the SQL database interface of the Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning application due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can supply a specially crafted parameter value to execute SQL commands on the underlying database.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to gain administrative access to vulnerable web application.
