Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38055)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in Microsoft Windows Codecs Library. A local user can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.

2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38056)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition in Microsoft Windows Codecs Library. A local user can trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
