Description
This security bulletin contains information about 7 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Integer underflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38074)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer underflow in Windows Remote Desktop Licensing Service. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted packet to the affected application, trigger integer underflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38099)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.
The vulnerability exists due to an error in when processing authentication requests in Windows Remote Desktop Licensing Service. A remote attacker can bypass authentication process and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38073)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition in Windows Remote Desktop Licensing Service. A remote attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds read error and cause a denial of service condition on the system.
4) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38076)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Windows Remote Desktop Licensing Service. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38071)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition in Windows Remote Desktop Licensing Service. A remote attacker can trigger an out-of-bounds read error and cause a denial of service condition on the system.
6) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38077)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error in Windows Remote Desktop Licensing Service. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-38072)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in Windows Remote Desktop Licensing Service. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
