Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Sensitive Data Storage in Improperly Locked Memory (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26236)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to sensitive data storage in improperly locked memory in Windows Update Stack. A local user can cause a race condition and gain elevated privileges.
2) Missing Authentication for Critical Function (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26235)
The vulnerability allows a local user to bypass authentication process.
The vulnerability exists due to a missing authentication check in Windows Update Stack. A local user can overwrite arbitrary files and gain elevated prvileges.
