Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23795)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing a specially crafted WRL file. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23796)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23797)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23798)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted WRL files. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23802)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition while parsing specially crafted SPP files. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.
6) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-23804)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error while parsing specially crafted PSOBJ files. A remote unauthenticated attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
