Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21378)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the Microsoft Outlook. A remote user can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.


2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21413)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of external links in Microsoft Outlook. A remote attacker can trick the victim to click on a specially crafted URL and execute arbitrary code on the target system.


3) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21402)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in the Microsoft Outlook, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.
