This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-24826)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the QuickTimeVideo::NikonTagsDecoder() function when parsing metadata of a crafted video file. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, pass it to the affected application, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and perform a denial of service attack.


2) Uncontrolled Recursion (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-25112)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to an unbounded recursion in QuickTimeVideo::multipleEntriesDecoder. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service attack.
