Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-4004)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in the way a user triggers the nft_pipapo_remove function with the element, without a NFT_SET_EXT_KEY_END. A local user can execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.


2) Improper restriction of communication channel to intended endpoints (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-47148)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of unsecured endpoints. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
