Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-31160)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when initializing a checkboxradio widget on an input enclosed within a label makes that parent label contents considered as the input label. If .checkboxradio( "refresh" ) is called on such a widget and the initial HTML contains encoded HTML entities, they will erroneously get decoded and executed. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

2) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-31147)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation when processing untrusted input within a regular expression. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDoS) attack.

Note, the vulnerability exists due to incomplete fix for #VU63477 (CVE-2021-43306).

3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-37536)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
