Description

This security bulletin contains information about 9 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-20454)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML code to the affected application and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.

2) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-5258)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Cluster: Packaging (dojo) component in MySQL Cluster. A remote authenticated user can exploit this vulnerability to gain access to sensitive information.

3) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-26296)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient CSRF protection mechanism. A remote attacker can guess the CSRF token, trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform arbitrary actions on behalf of the victim on the vulnerable website.

4) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-20453)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML code to the affected application and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.

5) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2015-5262)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources within the application. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

6) Improper Certificate Validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2014-3577)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper certificate validation. A remote attacker can perform a man-in-the-middle (MitM) attack and spoof SSL servers via a "CN=" string in a field in the distinguished name (DN) of a certificate.

7) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2012-6153)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to modify files on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to Apache Commons HttpClient does not properly verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and modify files on the system.

8) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2011-1498)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

Apache HttpClient 4.x before 4.1.1 in Apache HttpComponents, when used with an authenticating proxy server, sends the Proxy-Authorization header to the origin server, which allows remote web servers to obtain sensitive information by logging this header.

9) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-20480)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform SSRF attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and trick the application to initiate requests to arbitrary systems.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker gain access to sensitive data, located in the local network or send malicious requests to other servers from the vulnerable system.
