Description
This security bulletin contains information about 11 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-22475)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to escalate privileges within the application.
The vulnerability exists due to an unspecified error. A remote authenticated user can spoof identity of other application users.
2) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-24998)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to Apache Commons FileUpload does not limit the number of request parts. A remote attacker can initiate a series of uploads and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-45787)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to improper laxist permissions on the temporary files. A local user can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
4) Insecure Temporary File (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-0482)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure creation of temporary files. A local user can gain access to sensitive information.
5) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-37734)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources. A remote attacker can trigger send a specially crafted GraphQL query and consume available CPU resources, resulting in a denial of service.
6) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-46364)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform SSRF attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when parsing the href attribute of XOP:Include in MTOM requests. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and trick the application to initiate requests to arbitrary systems.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker gain access to sensitive data, located in the local network or send malicious requests to other servers from the vulnerable system.
7) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3509)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when parsing textformat data. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
8) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3171)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input containing multiple instances of non-repeated embedded messages with repeated or unknown fields. A remote attacker can cause objects to be converted back-n-forth between mutable and immutable forms, resulting in potentially long garbage collection pauses.
9) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-28867)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources. A remote attacker can send a crafted GraphQL query that causes stack consumption.
10) Inconsistent interpretation of HTTP requests (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-34165)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP request smuggling attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of HTTP requests. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the server and smuggle arbitrary HTTP headers.
Successful exploitation of vulnerability may allow an attacker to poison HTTP cache and perform phishing attacks.
11) Improper validation of certificate with host mismatch (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-39161)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform MitM attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper certificate validation issued by a trusted CA when configured to communicate with the Web Server Plug-ins for IBM WebSphere Application Server. A remote user can perform a man-in-the-middle (MitM) attack and gain access to sensitive information.
