Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-2157)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34153)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation when processing video:vsync or video:pixel-format options in VIDEO encoding/decoding. A remote unauthenticated attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

3) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34474)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the ReadTIM2ImageData() function in coders/tim2.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted image file to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34475)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the ReplaceXmpValue() function in MagickCore/profile.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted image to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
