Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Server-side template injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-25813)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the ecommerce plugin. A remote attacker can inject malicious content via the message “Subject” field from the "Contact us" page and execute arbitrary code on the system, when a party manager lists communications in the party component.

2) Insufficient verification of data authenticity (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-29063)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to missing verification of data authenticity within the Solr plugin when processing RMI requests sent to localhost to port 1099. A local user with access to the system can host a malicious RMI server on the system and execute arbitrary code with privileges of Apache OFBiz during server start-up or on a server restart.

3) Incorrect Regular Expression (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-29158)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient input validation when handling URLs. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted URL to the application and perform regular expression denial of service (ReDos) attack.

4) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-25371)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input within the Birt project plugin. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code.

5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-25370)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the Birt plugin. A remote attacker can permanently inject and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
