Description
This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Weak password requirements (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-1000134)
The vulnerability allows an attacker to compromise the affected application.
The vulnerability exists due to the application does not check for empty passwords when running in synchronous mode. A remote attacker can provide a valid username with an empty password and gain unauthorized access to the application.
2) Command injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2017-12629)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system. The weakness exists in the RunExecutableListener function due to insufficient security restrictions. A remote attacker can submit a specially crafted query to the affected system, inject arbitrary command and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may result in system compromise.
3) Prototype Pollution (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23383)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation when selecting certain compiling options to compile templates. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Prototype pollution (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-19919)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. Templates may alter an Object's __proto__ and __defineGetter__ properties, which may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code through crafted payloads.
5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-20920)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
6) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2019-20922)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop when processing specially-crafted templates. A remote attacker can consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
7) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-23369)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
8) Origin validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-26291)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform MitM attack.
The vulnerability exists due to Apache Maven follows by default all repositories that are defined in a dependency’s Project Object Model (pom), including repositories accessible over HTTP protocol (e.g. without TLS encryption). A remote attacker can perform MitM attack and compromise the application.
