Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2018-5786)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop and application hang in the get_fileinfo() function. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted lrz file and cause denial of service conditions.
2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-25467)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in the lzo_decompress_buf in stream.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted compressed file and trigger denial of service conditions.
3) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-27345)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in the ucompthread in stream.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted compressed file and trigger denial of service conditions.
4) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-27347)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error in lzma_decompress_buf function in stream.c. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted compressed file and trigger denial of service conditions.
5) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-26291)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a Denial of Service attack.
The vulnerability exists due to multiple concurrency use-after-free between zpaq_decompress_buf() and clear_rulist() functions when processing a crafted Irz file. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted Irz file and cause a Denial of Service (DoS).
6) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-28044)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
The vulnerability exists due to a heap memory corruption via the component lrzip.c:initialise_control. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted Irz file, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code.
