SB2022121356 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows Hyper-V

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41094)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in the Windows Hyper-V, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.

2) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-44682)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the Windows Hyper-V when handling DHCP packets. A remote attacker on the local network can send a DHCP request containing the DHCP message type DHCP_MESSAGE_DECLINE with an invalid DHCP_OPTION_REQUESTEDIPADDR embedded in the same DHCP request.
