Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41034)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in the Visual Studio Code. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.


2) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41083)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in the Visual Studio Code, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.


3) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41042)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application in the Visual Studio Code. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
