Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-35691)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

2) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38437)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file, trigger a use-after-free error and gain access to sensitive information.

3) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38450)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when handling PDF files. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

4) Stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42339)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when handling PDF files. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted PDF file, trigger a stack-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-38449)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 images, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.

6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42342)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted PDF file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
