This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-34703)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the partmgr.sys Windows partition management driver. A local user can trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.


2) Improper Authorization (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-33670)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper authorization logic in partmgr.sys driver when accessing SCSI file handles. A local user can can execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
