Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-4091)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error when processing virtual attributes context in persistent searches. A remote user can send specially crafted search requests to the directory server, trigger a use-after-free error and crash the server.



2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-3514)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error when using a sync_repl client in 389-ds-base. A remote authenticated user can cause a NULL pointer dereference using a specially crafted query and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
