Description
This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2020-13253)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition in the SD Memory Card emulator while performing block write commands via sdhci_write() in QEMU. A remote user of guest operating system can trigger out-of-bounds read error and crash the QEMU process.
2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-20196)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in the floppy disk emulator of QEMU. A privileged guest can trigger a NULL pointer dereference error and cause a denial of service.
