Description
This security bulletin contains information about 10 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-43889)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote administrator can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
2) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-42315)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-42314)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-42313)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-42312)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly impose security restrictions in Microsoft Defender for IoT, which leads to security restrictions bypass and privilege escalation.
6) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-42311)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-42310)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
8) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-41365)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote authenticated attacker can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
9) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-43882)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote authenticated attacker on the local network can send a specially crafted request and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
10) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-43888)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application in Microsoft Defender for IoT. A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
