Description

This security bulletin contains information about 4 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) HTTP response splitting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32598)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to perform HTTP splitting attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to software does not correctly processes CRLF character sequences in FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer GUI. A remote user can send specially crafted request containing CRLF sequence and make the application to send a split HTTP response.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker perform cache poisoning attack.


2) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32587)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.

The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions. A remote user with restricted user profile to retrieve the list of administrative users of other ADOMs and their related configuration.


3) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32603)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote user to perform SSRF attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input in FortiManager and FortiAnalyser GUI. A remote user can send a specially crafted HTTP request and trick the application to initiate requests to arbitrary systems.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker gain access to sensitive data, located in the local network or send malicious requests to other servers from the vulnerable system.


4) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-32597)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer user interface. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
