SB2021041314 - Multiple vulnerabilities in Microsoft Excel

Description

This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28454)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Excel. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file or visit a malicious website and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

2) Code Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28451)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in Microsoft Excel. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file or visit a malicious website and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

3) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2021-28456)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to excessive data output by the application in Microsoft Excel. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file or visit a malicious website and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.
